Hinckley ohio-The yearly return of the buzzards is planned for March 15 at the Buzzard Roost in Hinckley Township.
Cleveland Metroparks “official buzzard spotter” and chief of outdoor learning, Bob Hinkle, will be on hand to welcome the birds back to Greater Cleveland in the Hinckley Reservation. The Buzzard Watch starts at 7 a.m.
Visitors flock to this internationally known event armed with binoculars, cameras and a sense of humor to await the first official spotting of the season’s first buzzard.
The following day from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 16 at the roost, visitors are invited to celebrate the buzzards return during “Buzzard Sunday!” This free event features a buzzard scoreboard, displays and exhibits, naturalist-led hikes, live bird programs, musical entertainment, storytelling, buzzard bingo for children, bus tours, buzzard-related merchandise, refreshments and more.
The Buzzard Roost is located on State Road and West Drive in Hinckley.
The Hinckley Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a pancake breakfast and arts and craft show from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 16 at Hinckley Elementary School on Route 303.
