Clifton square - serves up traditional St. Patrick’s banquet

Clifton square - serves up traditional St. Patrick’s banquet - CLIFTON SQUARE - Corned beef and cabbage were the stars at the Clifton Square flames Department's second annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner.

More that 265 pounds of the traditional Irish beef was cooked up and all the fixings were on hand as well, including the all important cabbage, boiled potatoes, carrots and Irish soda bread.

Clifton Square Flames Department Captain J.D. Clairmont said their recipe for the corned beef is pretty simple.

"When you buy the corned beef, it comes with a little seasoning packet to it to, some people have a recipe they like to use, we're just taking it, throwing it the pot, boiling it up, putting the spices that come with it, so there's real no secret recipe this one," said Clairmont.
