The return of the good witch-Long long ago, at the outskirts of a kingdom lived a witch. She occasionally used to visit the royal palace to see how things were going; she would especially inquire about the young princess.

One fine day when the witch came to see how things were going at the royal palace, the king told her that though matters of the state were going smoothly, something terrible had happened and the princess had been missing.

The witch looked around at the king with a look of shock on her face. She loved that girl, she was so nice. The king told her that his guards were looking for the princess all over.

Pointing at three guards she said, “I demand you, you and you to go and look for her!” . The next morning the guards returned empty handed. “Why didn’t you find the princess?” the witch asked impatiently.

“I’m sorry but we had no luck finding her,” said the first guard.

“Nonsense! I can find her in the blink of an eye!” shouted the witch in a rage. “How can the princess disappear like that, she had to be somewhere, and she had to be found before she comes to some harm.”

So she went off the next morning after packing enough food for a year. She crossed desserts, mountains, forests and jungles until finally she found the princess hiding in a cave near the forest where the witch lived.

The princess was lying motionless, as if in deep sleep or unconscious. The witch picked her up and checked if she was breathing. One small heart beat at a time. The witch stroked her cheeks gently and the princess woke up. “Oh, witch I was looking for you,” said the princess. “Thank you for saving me.” Then she told how she left the palace because she wanted to see the witch and lost her way in the forest. No one knew the princess had gone looking for the witch and would enter the forest.

They both went to the palace where the king and the queen were very happy to see the princess safe and thanked the witch for her kindness.
