The Pentagon will announce charges Monday against six alleged September 11, 2001 co-conspirators, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the self-confessed mastermind of the attack on the United States, a spokesman said. Brigadier General Thomas Hartmann, a legal advisor on the prosecutions, was to announce the charges at a 1600 GMT news conference, he said. Hartmann “is going to talk about charges against 9/11 co-conspirator KSM (Khalid Sheik Mohammed) plus five,” the spokesman said, adding that prosecutors will seek the death penalty against them.
